Guildford Pub Bombings Inquests start

Fiona Barton QC and Robert Cohen are appearing for the Chief Constable of Surrey Police in the inquests into the deaths of Mr Paul Craig, Guardsman William Forsyth, Private Ann Hamilton, Guardsman John Hunter and Private Caroline Slater, who were killed in the Guildford Pub Bombings on 5th October 1974. 

The inquests, which started this week, will examine the circumstances of the bombings. They are expected to last for four weeks. 

Fiona Barton QC is recognised as a leading practitioner specialising in inquests and all aspects of police law. She is rated as “one of the finest police law barristers in the country” (Chambers UK). Robert Cohen is also a specialist in police law and inquests, he was also instructed in the inquests into the deaths of the victims of the Birmingham Pub Bombings.
