Social Responsibility

We are committed to being a responsible organisation, employer and business partner for our clients and community. Inclusivity, diversity and making a difference are very much embedded into the ethos of Chambers.

We want to stand out for our values and distinct culture so that our barristers, pupils and staff are proud to be part of Chambers and clients want to work with us.

Our values

Having a strong sense of common values and purpose underpins everything that we do not just within but also beyond Chambers in our community. Our values are:

Striving for excellence: To be the best we can possibly be - as individuals, as an organisation and for our clients - in order to consistently deliver outstanding client care and legal services.

Respecting diversity: We value and respect each other whatever our role or background. We have an inclusive working culture so that all barristers, pupils and staff have the opportunity to fulfil their potential.

Acting with integrity: It is important to not only do things right but to also do the right thing. We always consider the impact of our actions on each other, our clients and the wider community in which we operate. 

Putting clients first: Safeguarding client interests and reputations is always a priority. This is particularly relevant for so many clients with public accountability. Our clients can rely on us on all levels not just our legal expertise. 

Working together: We have an unusually strong team ethic both internally and how we work with our clients. Our inclusive and collaborative working approach enables us to build effective relationships and achieve together.

Ongoing development: We are committed to the continuing education and development of all our people. This includes both formal training and informal knowledge sharing which we also extend to our clients and community. 

In the community 

Our core values are evident beyond Chambers. Collectively and individually we are involved with and support a range of initiatives, charities and causes. Here are a few examples:

  • We have committed to host an intern as part of the Bar’s collective participation in the 10,000 Black Interns scheme
  • We take part in the London Legal Walk to raise funds for the organisations assisted by The London Legal Support Trust;
  • Georgina Wolfe has been involved with the First 100 Years project which celebrates women's contribution to the law. She was a finalist in the 'Inspirational Women in Law Award 2017' and wrote an inspiring essay 'How can women shape the future of the legal industry'; 
  • We are supporters of the Living Wage Foundation to ensure our employees and contractors are always fairly remunerated;
  • We provide financial support to talented students based outside London who would otherwise not be able to undertake a mini-pupillage in Chambers;
  • In support of giving young people from all backgrounds access to the Bar, our barristers give talks at law schools and schools (barristers recently spoke at Deptford School) and take part in social mobility programmes such as the Bar Mobility Scheme and Big Voice London
  • A large number of our barristers and staff are involved with and/or regularly take part in fund raising activities for a variety of charities and organisations outside the law - this includes acting as charity trustees and school governors.
