Edmund Garnett joins 5 Essex Chambers

15 August 2022

We are delighted to announce that Edmund Garnett has accepted an invitation to join chambers as a tenant. Edmund started his pupillage here in September 2021. Since then, he has forged a busy second-six practice, particularly in police law, and has assisted with judicial reviews, wrongful arrest claims, data protection issues and work relating to inquests and inquiries. Before undertaking pupillage, Edmund worked as a Research and Policy Officer in Parliament, where he specialised in research related to constitutional reform.

Head of Chambers, Jason Beer QC, comments: "We are very pleased that Edmund has chosen to join us as a tenant, after successful completion of his pupillage. He has a stellar academic record, has refined advocacy skills and has already begun to establish enduring relationships with our key clients."

Edmund will officially become a tenant of 5 Essex Chambers on 5th September 2022. He comments: “I am so pleased to be offered the chance to join a set defined not just by its fascinating work but also the goodheartedness of its members. I can't wait to get started in September".
