Clerking Team Leader Paul Read Retires

17 June 2021

After 7 great years with Chambers and a clerking career spanning 5 decades, Paul Read has made the decision that the time is right to retire. All of us at 5 Essex Chambers feel extremely fortunate to have benefitted from Paul’s good humour and hard work over the years and we will miss him enormously.

“We all wish Paul every happiness in his much deserved retirement from clerking” says Jason Beer QC, Head of Chambers, “Paul’s long and distinguished clerking career – he has served in the profession for 46 years – including working at Doughty Street, Old Square and New Court Chambers before he came to us in 2014.  I should like to express our profound gratitude for everything that Paul has done for all of us.”

Paul will retire today, 18th June.
