5 Essex Chambers is delighted to announce that Conor Monighan and Sarah Dobbie have accepted an invitation to join chambers as tenants. Sarah and Conor commenced pupillage at 5 Essex Chambers in September 2020, during which time they have gained experience across Chambers’ core practice areas.
Before commencing pupillage Sarah worked as a Research Assistant to Jennifer Robinson at Doughty Street Chambers and Jason Pobjoy at Blackstone Chambers. She has also worked as a Legal Advisor for St Andrew’s Refugee Service in Egypt, Graduate Lawyer at international law firm Allens, and volunteer Refugee Field Attorney in Greece.
Prior to pupillage, Conor worked as an advocate in the County Court. He conducted over one hundred hearings, representing clients ranging from local authorities to FTSE 100 companies. In addition, as a volunteer for Liberty he provided written and oral advice to the public on a wide variety of human rights issues.
Head of Chambers Jason Beer QC said: "I am delighted to welcome Sarah and Conor to Chambers as tenants. Quite aside from their stellar academic qualifications, they both undertook a rich variety of legal work before starting their pupillages – with the breadth of work they have seen in pupillage, they make excellent additions to Chmabers. Their recruitment adds further strength in depth to 5 Essex Chambers and demonstrates our commitment to training and developing the future stars of the Bar. We are very lucky to have them."
Conor and Sarah will officially become tenants of 5 Essex Chambers on 1st September 2021.
