Tommy started his pupillage with 5 Essex Court in September 2018 and is gaining experience in and exposure to a variety of cases across Chambers’ core practice areas notably Police Law.
He holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) from St. Peter’s College, University of Oxford and completed the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) at City University.
Tommy’s previous experience includes representing parents appealing against their child’s permanent school exclusion, interning at the United Nations High Commission for Refugees in Geneva and running his own social action campaign, “I Too Am Human”, to counter negative perceptions of refugees.
Tommy has previously taught debating at a summer school he set up in Newham, at KPMG for newly-promoted Senior Managers and at the Oxford Union. Recently, he was a judge – alongside Former Home Secretary, Alan Johnson - at the Grand Final of the International Public Speaking Competition 2018 (the largest public speaking competition in the world). He was formerly the ESU International and English Mace debating champion.
