The Court of Protection team deals with a broad range of work under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 with an emphasis on health and welfare issues, as well as cases under the High Court’s jurisdiction in relation to vulnerable adults.
Members accept instructions from family members, deputies, local authorities, clinical commissioning groups, protected Parties and the Official Solicitor. We have experience in handling cases at all levels of complexity, from District Judge to the High Court, appearing regularly at both First Avenue House and the Regional Centres. We undertake advisory and advocacy work. Our members combine expertise with a practical and sensitive approach.
