Clare Harrington and Dan Hobbs have written an article in the New Law Journal on the cost of defending claims in the Employment Tribunal
The article discusses the potential costs for Respondents of defending an Employment Tribunal Claim since the introduction of fees and the 2013 Rules of Procedure. Whilst the introduction of fees has significantly reduced the number of claims being issued, there remain important factors to consider when deciding whether to defend a claim, including the increased risk of a costs order if the defence is unsuccessful and the potential for financial penalties.
